Happy Gifted Awareness Week!

What are you/your school doing to promote belonging: acceptance, inclusion, and connection in your centre/school? This week is a timely reminder to keep viewing our gifted learners with open eyes to ensure this population of learners belong too. Feel free to share in the comments below what your school/centre has planned. Alternatively, check out the websites for  NZ Centre for Gifted Education, www.nzcge.co.nz , giftEDnz, www.giftednz.org.nz, and the NZ Association for Gifted Children www.giftedchidlren.org.nz to find out what Nz's three nationwide charities are doing for inspiration.

Don't forget to check out the position paper at NZ Centre for Gifted Education www.nzcge.co.nz/GiftedAwarenessWeek and the Gifted Awareness Week Blog Tour www.nzcge.co.nz/blogtour

  1. At our school we have set up a 'Guess Who' game board in the staffroom. Over the week staff are collaborating to match gifted learner's pictures to unusual clues about about them. Already there has been lots of discussion amongst staff and the students have LOVED planning it! Later in the week gifted kids, their families and all staff will be sent an invitation to a 'Family Fun Night' later in the term.
